Environmental responsibility, sustainable development

Sustainable development
Environmental responsibility, sustainable development

The idea guiding us in furniture production is to create something truly valuable. This results in products that inspire through both functionality and aesthetics. We also think long-term, acting responsibly to create an exceptional office environment with consideration for nature, society, and future generations.

For over 50 years, we have complied with environmental regulations and legal standards. We treat the location of our factory—with respect, situated in the heart of Toruń. In response to growing market demands, we implement solutions aligned with ecological trends.

The actions taken by WUTEH and our sustainable practices reduce the negative impact of the production process on the environment. Our furniture is durable, of high quality, and features timeless design, making it a symbol of reliability for years to come. A 5-year warranty on our products serves as a promise of both durability and sustainable development.

The principles we follow in our daily work.

1
Optimal use of wood-based materials and other raw materials, thereby reducing waste

Our machinery allows for the use of efficient and advanced cutting techniques for both wood-based materials and steel. Laser cutting of steel pipes results in up to 30% less waste. This minimizes material losses and ensures responsible use of resources.

2
Collaboration with trusted raw material suppliers who operate with sustainability in mind

Our supply chains are carefully monitored and comply with high environmental standards and procedures. Our suppliers work to optimize the recycling rate of their products.

For example, our melamine board supplier monitors the emission of harmful formaldehydes, certified with a hygienic certificate confirming reduced levels of these volatile compounds. By using boards with low formaldehyde content, we contribute to better air quality while ensuring the health of both our employees and the end users of WUTEH furniture.

We pay special attention to using recycled materials. PET felt dividers are made from 75% recycled content. The steel used for frames contains nearly 20% secondary raw materials. Even our main material, melamine board, contains approximately 30% recycled content.

3
Transition from Styrofoam packaging to paper-based fillers

We began this process in 2023. In the products manufactured for the domestic market, we reduced Styrofoam usage by 95%. The remaining 5% consists of Styrofoam corner protectors. Instead of Styrofoam fillers, we use honeycomb-structured paper. The cardboard used for packaging furniture is made from 100% recycled materials.

4
Efficient product packaging to maximize cargo space utilization

We manage logistics processes with an ecological approach. We optimize and consolidate shipments to our clients, thereby reducing CO² emissions. In addition, all production is concentrated in a single location, which allows transportation over shorter distances—saving both resources and time.

5
Implementation of renewable energy technologies and energy-efficient solutions in the plant

In 2022, we installed a photovoltaic system on the roofs of our factory. The PV system provides energy sufficient to cover electricity consumption in our offices and administrative areas. Additionally, we are gradually transitioning to energy-efficient lighting in production halls and office spaces.

6
Focus on workplace safety

Employee safety is an absolute priority for us. We provide maximum protection at workstations through personal protective equipment, helmets, gloves, and professional workwear. Our team undergoes continuous training to keep their knowledge in relevant areas up to date and constantly expanding.

7
Supporting reforestation in Poland

We plant trees through the program posadzimy.pl. Each year, our initiative contributes over 11 ares of new forest.

8
Engagement in the local community

We support local social initiatives and actively participate in various projects in our region. We take pride in the community where we have been operating for over 50 years.

9
Digitization of processes

We use paper responsibly. To reduce its consumption, we implement digital solutions and have cut catalog printing by 90%, providing easy access to materials in electronic form.

The WUTEH furniture factory is committed to continuous environmental optimization. As a manufacturing company, we take responsibility for protecting our natural resources.

We understand sustainable development as an ongoing process, constantly evaluating our achievements and initiating new actions when necessary. We continuously seek innovative solutions to ensure an environmentally friendly foundation for future generations.
